UEFA Champions League Season 2012/'13 Highlights

With lots of lessons to the successful teams and with lots of joy to our fans, UEFA Champions League Season is coming to an end. UEFA decided to play this season's final at Wembley. As we all are pumped up to the biggest final, I'll post here the summary of Champions League.

Round of 16
-------------
1. Porto vs Malag = Malaga
A 77th-minute header from substitute Roque Santa Cruz took the debutants into the last eight after Isco had wiped out Porto's first-leg advantage.

2. Shakhtar vs Borussia Dortmund = Borussia Dortmund
First-half Felipe Santana and Mario Götze goals were followed up by Jakub Błaszczykowski as Dortmund got to the last eight for the first time since 1998.

3. Real Madrid vs Man.United = Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo settled the tie in the visitors' favour after Luka Modrić, with United down to ten men following the dismissal of Nani, had equalised.

4. Galatasaray vs Schalke = Galatasaray
Goals from Hamit Altıntop, Burak Yılmaz and Umut Bulut give Galatasaray a 3-2 victory on the night, a result that puts them through to the quarter-finals courtesy of a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

5. Valencia vs PSG = PSG
Ezequiel Lavezzi equalised for Carlo Ancelotti's team as the Ligue 1 leaders qualified for the last eight for the first time in 18 years.

6. AC Milan vs Barcelona = Barcelona
Lionel Messi's first-half double erased Milan's aggregate lead before goals from David Villa and Jordi Alba secured Barça's sixth straight quarter-final.

7. Arsenal vs Bayern Munich = Bayern Munich
The Bundesliga leaders progressed to the quarter-finals despite succumbing on the night to goals from Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny.

8. Celtic vs Juventus = Juventus
A goal in each half by Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella sealed a comfortable win that took Juve into the last eight for the first time since 2006.


Quarter Finals

1. Dortmund vs Malaga = Dortmund
With a semi-final place slipping away, Dortmund pulled off a miraculous comeback after added-time goals from Marco Reus and Felipe Santana.

2. Galatasaray vs Real Madrid = Real Madrid
The hosts produced a stirring second half to win on the night but Madrid held on to reach a record 24th semi-final thanks to their first-leg victory.

3. Barcelona vs PSG = Barcelona
Pedro Rodríguez's 71st-minute strike sent the Spanish side into a sixth straight semi-final.

4. Bayern Munich vs Juventus = Bayern
Mario Mandžukić banished any lingering doubt about the outcome of the tie before Claudio Pizarro sealed Bayern's progress in added time.

Semi Finals
------------
1. Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid = Dortmund
Jürgen Klopp's side held out despite late goals from Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos to reach their first final since winning the competition in 1997.

2. Barcelona vs Bayern = Bayern
The German side recorded the biggest aggregate win in a UEFA Champions League semi-final to set up an all-Bundesliga final at Wembley on 25 May.
